Dirty Vent
Air Cleaning and Purification

More and more people are suffering from allergies, asthma and poor indoor air quality. We can’t cure your ailments, but we can help clean the air to help reduce the buildup of pollutants, allowing your body’s immune system to better do its job. We offer air filters and purifiers of all types and sizes.

Air filters have become more than just a way to keep dust out of your furnace or air conditioner. Many new homes are built with the most basic, disposable air filters. These catch the big particles, but can actually let the smaller particles slip right by. In addition, studies have shown that micro-organisms can actually start growing on the dirt that is collecting on a standard filter.

Electronic air cleaners are effective at reducing up to 97%of the particulates in the air. HEPA filters are also very effective at removing particles in the air. Ultraviolet lights can be effective on micro-organisms, chemical and toxins, and are placed in a position where they can effectively irradiate micro-organisms as the air flows past the UV bulb.

Schedule an appointment today so we can explain which air cleaning system may best suit you and your family.

Air Quality

Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality is a growing concern today because homes are being built tighter to be more energy efficient. Existing homes are being tightened up with weather stripping, insulation, storm windows and doors. These energy savings come with a price, since the exchange of indoor air and fresh outdoor air is limited.

When the indoor air becomes dirty and polluted, it’s trapped and recirculated. It is important to clean the air by filtering out these pollutants because they can cause you to suffer from flu-like symptoms, such as headaches, nausea and respiratory irritation. They also can aggravate asthma and allergy conditions.

There are a number of things you can do to reduce the amount of pollutants in the air, such as frequent vacuuming and dusting, but the smallest particles that cause the most irritation can only be removed by filtering devices.

To complicate matters, there are three distinct types of indoor air pollutants.

Dust Mite
Dander
Fungi
Mold

Particulates – which include…
• dust • pollen • dust mites• animal dander • carpet fibers• lint

Micro-organisms – which include…
• mold • influenza • fungi • viruses • bacteria • germs

Toxins (gases) – which include…
• benzene • chemical vapors • formaldehyde • carbon monoxide
• paint • pesticides • carpet fumes • pet odors • ozone• cleaning vapors • smoke

Another Problem / Dust Mites
Don’t be a victim of the dust mite or indoor air pollution….fight back!!

Ultraviolet Light

Ultraviolet Light is well on its way to becoming one of the most popular and effective methods of reducing indoor air pollutants such as bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, household dust and chemicals, pet dander and odors, and cooking and tobacco smoke. The wavelength of the UV light attacks the cell wall of the contaminant causing the DNA of the cell to become sterile. When the cell can no longer reproduce it will die.

While special air filters and filtration systems built to fight pollutants are helpful, the UV light will take the fight to the next level. UV germicidal lights and lamps may be added to your heating & air conditioning system as an accessory item and are typically installed in the duct work out of sight. The UV light works by decreasing growths in the cooling coil which circulates the air you are breathing in your home.

UV lights should be professionally installed to ensure proper function and placement that is specific to each home. UV lights offer a cleaner environment in our homes where the things we value most, our families, live.
